Hey,

I'm not much well-versed with Persona or FxAccounts. But here's my humble
opinions on what I think about this discussion happening.

If we were to move everything that profiles a user to FxAccounts, I think
Persona would be dead very soon. I don't see any use of Persona if
everything that profiles the user is going to be stored on their FxAccount.

But still, I think moving to Firefox Accounts would be a much better option
right now, since it enables Sync and other profiling services already. It's
just website integration that is missing that Persona takes care of (as far
as I've known Persona) as of now. So moving that one last piece to
FxAccounts would mean many things :

   1. Building a whole new social system for FxAccounts.
   2. Integrating all the services from Persona.

But I think this would be a good idea. Let me elaborate one scenario that
just popped into my mind right now as I was drafting this mail :
If I'm using FxAccounts that I have all my profile data synced - my
passwords, persona data (websites that have used my Persona to log in).
This would mean that my browsing experience is seamless as I browse through
the web. A master password (we already have that for the password vault
now) could be used to unlock the profile for increased / elevated security.
Now, that sounds like a lot like signing in to your google account on
Google Chrome that allows you to log in seamlessly on all your apps that
use your google account to log-in.
Though making a complete move to FxAccounts is a good, feasible and viable
option (though I can't determine the amount of technical effort this would
require to be implemented), that would also mean the death of Persona as we
know it today.
