Hi All,
Earlier today we had our weekly "Backend Catchup" session, our
opportunity to put operations front-and-center and stay in sync on
what's happening downstream of tagging a new release train. The
highlights from today's chat included:
* A disturbing bug was uncovered when updating fxa-content-server
to node v4 - different versions of node would produce different hash
digests for the same file content! It busted our cache-busting
URLs and SRI attributes, but we seem to have gotten to the bottom
of it. Much ❤ to :jrgm, :jbuck and :vladikoff for battling
through this issue.
* Apart from content-server, all other stacks will go out as node v4
with the train-70 deloy. And there was much rejoicing.
* The long-running task of purging many gigabytes of expired oauth
tokens is temporarily paused while the Firefox 49 release rolls out,
since Firefox releases can lead to unexpected spikes in db write load.
* :jbuck has been hard at work Dockerizing All The Things and would
appreciated some review love for his PRs.
* Shane sent in an asynchronous report that Sign-in Unblock is working
in end-to-end testing and, baring calamity, should be ready to
go into initial testing with train-71.
Thanks to all who could join us!
Cheers,
Ryan
