Hello regular folks, +Glean team since this is relevant to y'all this week,
The Android Tech Leads met Wednesday, May 29 after a two-week gap. The slower cadence acknowledges the number of people in the group who are heads down on critical work and the generally happy place that cross-project technical problems are in. \o/ The discussion focused on the new Rust Glean implementation <https://github.com/mozilla/glean>, for collecting and reporting Telemetry. The library is following the Application Services pattern using rust-android-gradle <https://github.com/mozilla/rust-android-gradle/> to integrate Cargo into Gradle, but there are many open questions about how to integrate the Glean work into the megazord distribution vehicles and how to extend the non-trivial CI framework in application-services <https://github.com/mozilla/application-services> to the _next_ Rust library, and then to the one after that. The immediate action item is for Ryan Kelly to talk to the Glean team so that we can flesh out a plan for distribution.
