This is a known issue. The Z3C ships with proprietary DRM software which improves the quality of pictures taken using its camera. When we flash Firefox OS on top of Z3C's Android image, the partition that the DRM keys are stored on is destroyed. That means that, even if you flash Android back onto the device, pictures taken using the camera will still have reduced quality.
You can back up the DRM keys before flashing Firefox OS, but as far as I know, there's no way to recover them after-the-fact. The keys are also specific to the device unit, so you can't get them elsewhere.
