If we added gmail to that magical list of UA spoofed sites [1] could
we get it on fxos overnight? I wonder if they're using webkit/blink only

our OS.

We've experimented a bit with testing UA overrides for mobile gmail in
the past (see some of the screenshots and comments of
<https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=668275> -- but it's still
a mixed bag.
In our team meeting this week we said we'd like to take a closer look at
Gmail (like the recent work Karl has done with GCal in Bug 995140):
<https://wiki.mozilla.org/Compatibility/Mobile/2015-12-work-week#Testing_Google_Properties>
We're definitely getting *closer*, especially with Element.innerText
landing in Nightly recently.
But it will require a few things, probably:
1) UA override (at least for initial testing -- Google will serve us the
nice version once we say it's OK).
2) layout.css.prefixes.webkit pref set to true
3) ...?
4) Profit
It's step 3 that we're uncertain of -- but if anyone wants to have a jam
session with us in Orlando and dive into the issues, that would be
awesome. I'm concerned about -webkit-mask usage and needing to reverse
engineer -webkit-border-image quirks (See
<https://github.com/whatwg/compat/issues/17> for reasons why a simple
alias from -webkit-border-image to unprefixed border-image can't work).
