If we would use an extensible XML similar to menu.xml for feeding
admins fields, it would be absolutely no matter if this is for
Standard-Admin or Admin 2.0 Project. Both would know which fields
they have to display due they use the same xml-feed.
so please tell - what do you think about my proposed menu.xml
structure, it would be great to have broader consense on the the
definition part.
I think the implementation would be not so hard, but will only make
sense if more extension-developers like the idea and oxid is open for
patch.
YES your proposed structure is the way I would declare it too. Perhaps
we also should think about additional layout information (maybe just
left and right) and if we should put it into a seperate xml file like
fields.xml or content.xml for not blowing up the menu.xml.
We also could get further if we'd alternatively offer to declare a type
"snippet" in this XML which leads to a template snippet-file in modules/
which will be inlcuded if the layout-addition of the module is a bit
more complicated than just adding a checkbox.

André
