Hi, I'd propose to discuss it rather here in this mailing list (maybe better without the signature ^^): that's why we installed it and the developers are present here as well. Well, they are already in Freiburg for Commons doing mostly workshops etc. in this week... But actually I can't see anything wrong with this mailing list.
The GitHub tracker is basically intended to cover pull requests and discussions about them for easy and quick decisions. What you're proposing has to be decided by the product owner anyway, also the way it will be implemented.
