If you're looking at examples with ${foo} expressions, they're likely
FreeMarker templates. FreeMarker does not process jsp markup indeed. If your
template is of type "jsp", then code snippets should just work. Magnolia itself
does not enable or disable anything with regards to JSP. (although it's
probably something that's configurable in your app container)
