Temporary "Tools apps" don't work on FF

If opened, all I briefly see is the gray empty app and the loading indicator,
then the screen turns green, the app is indicated as running, but I can't see
it. If I click on the supposedly running app again on the apps screen, it is
started again (and fails again).
