Thanks Chris,
It looks like Greg is putting some though into the model and how to access.

Hi Seth,
Assuming you have the freemarker servlet installed you can use freemarker
templates to render your pages. You can even install it as part of your
module servlet configuration. Just as templates with .jsp on the end are
handled by the jsp servlet, templates with .ftl are handled by the
freemarker
servlet.
So much for the theory.
The problem is a lack of a freemarker model that exposes Magnolia
Content to
these templates. Fortunately, it seems this will show up along with
paragraph renderers. Stay tuned.

Chris

Apologies if this is a repeat. I have been having trouble with my email

Hello,
I was looking over the libraries included in Magnolia (latest release
3.0.2) and I noticed Velocity and Freemarker. However, I do not see
anywhere in the documentation how one would create a template using
these
templating languages. Is this just part of SiteDesigner? Or can you
create a Velocity or FreeMarker template? Is it just a matter of
pointing
the path attribute of the template definition to a file with a specific
extension? If so, what objects are available in the context?
Thanks,
Seth
