I don't know if our guys pointed out the obvious (I didn't see it) ... 

If you want to renew a domain without having the userid and password, how
are you supposed to get the current expiry date?

We're implementing a whois based solution now, but since most of the info
is in whois (e.g. public), it would be nice if a similar amount of info
was available through the API _without_ a password.
