Hi list,

The f_lock_domain parameter to sw_register is hardly documented, as of
the 2.8.8 API documentation, and I have a few questions regarding its
use:

- Is it possible for the registration to complete but the lock is not set?

- Would a lock failure prevent the registration from completing?

- Is there enough information in the response with f_lock_domain set to
distinguish between locked, locking in progress, and lock failed?

- The archives for this list indicate that f_lock_domain is not
available on horizon, but that was some time ago. Is this still true?
(and the OpenSRS Name Locking Guide is similarly old).

During registration, we could check the lock status immediately
afterwards, but then, we could perform a modify_domain immediately
afterwards too, and get return codes specific to the lock operation.

Any other hints or tips on the use of f_lock_domain appreciated.
