I am currently running Simplymepis 3.3 02 on a Toshiba Satellite A65-S1362 laptop. Nearly everything is working right (sound, built in wired networking, even the DVD ejects properly and my USB key and camera are detected)! This version nearly got my wife to switch full time (she uses the cd when she wants to be more secure).
Two issues: First, the built in graphics are from ATI (the Radeon idg 7000 card). This card, apparently, does not have any good drivers. The included ones (and the ones on ATI's site) are for the 8 and 9000 series. The graphics are fine, but no 3D (so the kids can't play tuxracer). Also, I have a Linksys WPC54G PCMCIA wireless card. It is a complete no go, not detected. I haven't had the time to work on it. I do have Pro4 and 3.3 03 on my childrens desktop - both work great. The kids prefer the Pro4 (mostly because they have a lot of extras installed). BTW and Linksys PCI wireless card works great in this one (HP pavilion 533w). Keep up the great work.
