I was going off of statements made in bug 1345661, such as in comment 63: "ALSA supports 5.1 audio perfectly well; I'm using it daily." [1], and a quick Google search suggests ALSA supports 5.1 audio as well. > Bug 1341108 still stands. It looks like that bug concerns 5.1 support in the libcubeb ALSA backend, not in ALSA itself.
