Perish the thought that a UI element might spark, in even a tiny percentage, a question in a mind that leads to an exploration that leads to an individual human being's growth. Design that conforms only to the least common denominator is sure to play into a downward spiraling feedback loop. I concur -- as you elsewhere suggested -- we are talking past each other.
