However I was in the minority and such an improvement was in the end rejected. But I must say that certain aspect of the UI did improve in that respect (in FF3) and it's much easier to gain basic information, albeit Mozilla decides when to display this information and when not.
Too bad that one has to find the subject line in order to know more about a certificate (and how it's validated etc).
