Does the cert viewer not show any chain (under "Details"), or is it just showing the "Could not verify this certificate for unknonw reasons" message on the "General" tab? If the latter, then it has mostly to do with trust flags and the keyUsage/extendedKeyUsage extensions of the certs in question, and is probably not an issue with the label or the id.
