caching on mobile devices was disabled by default because of
(assumed or observed?) bad disk-performance.

I have not started to analyze whether it actually is weird
or just due to HW on the Nexus - maybe someone on these lists
has some insight? I also observe that the Galaxy S results from
Geoff show decent disk-read performance. Of-course this may
all come down to efficient IO-caching on devices - any insight?

In any case, I'll change the text on the wiki...
