We do a lot of tests for a proper environment, too. For example, we check the
file descriptors on all the hosts.
There are other things to check:
* the permissions on conf/accumulo-site.xml
* the existence of the wal directory
* the existence of the log directory
* checksum the configuration across the cluster
this should probably be optional.
