    I'm not a fan of using deprecation tags to signal "YMMV". Not being in the 
public API does that all by itself. Currently, (for better or worse) no 
iterators are in the public API. Some are more risky than others, but I don't 
think we can use deprecation tags to meaningfully distinguish between 
continuous ranges of risk.
