Typically, I like to see formatting handled entirely on the UI front, and that 
applies here.  Also, the display looks acceptable to me.

With that said, tracking average message size as a real number seems excessive. 
 Even for very small message sizes (say 1-10 bytes), it doesn't seem to add 
much value (would you monitor and have a threshold at 1.5 bytes?).  So, 
changing it to an integer or long seems viable.
