- reduce or eliminate the backlog of unapplied/unaccepted/uncommented 
patches/pull requests

- keep it that way :-)

- (maybe) provide hints rather than complete solutions for bugs that don't seem 
too hard to fix given a starting point as an easy way to start to get involved.

I think the above will increase the list of people we'd want to offer karma to.

- look at what openejb does :-)

So, I haven't compiled any statistics but think that some people have 
complained about ignored contributions.  Ignoring people is kinda asking them 
to go away, not what we want.
