I agree with Jareks statement that a migration path need to be offered.
Actually in my former company I was a strong fanboy of MSSQL and the DB engine 
has good capabilities, but of course if the user base is small does not make 
sense to support it. (I would rather drop MySQL if I would need to drop any DB 
but I assume the user base for this is larger 😃)
