Hi Airflow community!

The support for SQL has been
removed<https://airflow.apache.org/docs/apache-airflow/stable/howto/set-up-database.html#mssql-database>
starting Airflow version 2.9.0 and this is a concern for many Microsoft
customers who are using Airflow. Many customers have a multi-cloud and multi-DB
engine strategy. SQL popularity across different customer segments is not new.
They would benefit from having SQL supported alongside PostgreSQL and MySQL.

We acknowledge the issues raised in the previous
vote<https://lists.apache.org/thread/r06j306hldg03g2my1pd4nyjxg78b3h4> and are
finding a solution to ensure we can help resolve CI issues with the SQL Server
backend, and to help complete any SQL Server backend PRs.

Look forward to the discussions around this.
