Hi all, Following the discussion thread on the YAML format, looks like we are on board of the idea, so I’m starting a LC to get a decision in place. https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/0j7cshk4snr332hzrdxd46o0yz1qbony
The plan: 1. Design a YAML Dag format (see discussion thread for details), implement a parser and custom AIP-85 Dag Importer with Airflow 3.4. 2. Publish a JSON Schema file for the format under airflow.apache.org 3. The parser and importer will be in airflow.sdk in 3.4 as an experimental feature. This is because AIP-85 will also be experimental in this version, and keeping the YAML importer in the same place makes it easier if we need to make changes to the importer interface. 4. Once AIP-85 is stable, move the YAML importer (and the parser) to a provider (likely the Standard provider). The lazy consensus is open for 72 hours, until Saturday, 11 Oct 2026, 10:00 UTC. It is considered accepted if there are no objections.
