I would thank you for all interesting comments. I agree with Juergen when he says that the current ViewData string format is an implementation detail and so it should remain private. In effect as you have already pointed, the original problem was not specifically about the ViewData string format but about the (missing) active-cell API support. Anyway I'm not completely in agreement in order to not adding a code-snippet because it's about an undocumented/unpublished feature. Ok, in general this is very reasonable, but in this case there isn't a cleaner way to do the same task. Code-snippets are for solving problems and the hack from Laurent is a great solution for a very common problem. ( BTW I'm using it and it works great, so thanks a million Laurent ! :-) If in future we will have a regular API for that it will be a great thing, but I don't think we are speaking in the immediate or near future. So I think that if we would make a code-snippet where we clearly say that it uses an unpublished/undocumented feature and nothing is guarantee and bla bla... it could be acceptable (and useful) regards Paolo Mantovani --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
