I am not sure what you mean by this. That when we depend on an GPL'ed
iconv implementation it infects APR? AFAIK, Linux and OSX use the
LGPL'ed libiconv.....
You are correct, my quick research indicates libiconv is LGPL'ed (the
flavor in libc is, of course, covered by the libc exception clause.)
LGPL doesn't warm my heart any more than GPL, as we must distribute it
to distrbute binaries, so my objection stands.
