you know, reverse engineered class structures through
other tools may not reflect the real implementation of
this tool, so gap between design and impl. may exist
in this way. I noticed the high level view of the
major subsystems drawn as a UML in sec. 4, but what I
need are the class diagrams showing relationships of
classes.
It would be perfect if the updated design documents
(class structures) can be downloaded. I will try he

I'm not sure what you mean by "original" in this context. The Java code
isn't generated from a UML model if that's what you are thinking (except for
Java implementation of the UML 1.4 metamodel).
There is a very, VERY high level view of the major subsystems drawn as a UML
diagram in section 4 of the Developer's Cookbook at
http://argouml-stats.tigris.org/documentation/defaulthtml/cookbook/ (ignore
the "-stats" suffix, it's actually part of the ArgoUML project).
The other possibility that I'm aware of would be to reverse engineer the
model from either the jars (using the classfile plugin module) or from Java
sources. I'm not sure whether anyone has tried this recently, so I don't
know whether it gives a reasonable result. There's what appears to be an
earlier attempt at this located at
http://argouml.tigris.org/source/browse/*checkout*/argouml/documentation/coo
kbook/cookbook.zargo but it's 4 1/2 years old, so obviously it will bear
only a loose resemblance to the current reality.
