We must be looking at different files. The one I had in front of me as I wrote my message was definitely reverse engineered from ArgoUML and was different from the Cookbook. What I failed to realize until after I sent the message though was that it only included a small piece of ArgoUML -- the Critics/Cognitive system -- so it's not going to be very useful. Even when we have Martin's improved class layout, I think it will be difficult to generate useful results automatically. Getting the right level of detail for different diagrams at different levels of abstraction and laying them out in a maximally understandable configuration is probably going to take a fair amount of human work. The other issue we have in the immediate term is the enormous dependency tangle/cycle of 700+ classes. That's sure to confuse any automatic attempt at a reasonable layout.
