The other significant issue with the current copyright/license statement is the copyright assignment. The source code is valuable intellectual property owned by the team. We shouldn't be assigning ownership of it to the University of California just because they contributed some undergrad slave labor a decade ago.
All new code should be copyrighted by the team. All Cal copyrighted code which is modified by the team should carry a joint copyright ownership statement. This change should have been instituted years ago when the university stopped being involved in the project. Tom
