I'm not convinced that we're getting effective testing with the betas, so I think some consideration should be given to just releasing 0.26.2 directly as soon as Christian is able to build it rather than incurring additional delays, particularly since each additional day we wait increases the number of corrupted projects in the field.
I had a look at the download stats and the beta has been downloaded a grand total of 80 times and a bunch of those were probably by members of the development team. On the other hand, 0.26 has been downloaded a total of 25,000 times in the 6 weeks that it has been available and we're adding another 600-800 bad installations every week day (and about half that on weekend days). In case anyone is interested in the distribution of kit types, for the period 27 Sept 2008 to 14 Nov 2008 the totals were: 68% .exe 17417 16% .zip 4008 11% .tar.tgz 2950 3% .app.tgz 840 (Mac) 2% jnlp 442 (WebStart) I didn't look at whether the big download button increased downloads, but it's definitely getting used. Over 80% of the PC & Mac downloads come directly through that button without going to the download page first. Tom p.s. I'm convinced that my fix for issue 5434 is solid. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
