I think the application was a little bit better this year than last years.
Each year small improvements have been made. Appearantly the improvement
this year was not big enough.
The Google representatives mention some things from the selection process
that I can understand has worked against us. Leslie wrote "This year, we're
accepting fewer mentoring organizations with the goal of creating larger
student peer groups within each project. We've heard feedback from several
organizations that having more students helped their mentees develop a
greater sense of engagement with the community through their engagement with
one another. " This works against us since we are a small project. I really
hope that Tom didn't enter an application for the ArgoEclipse project. That
would make us appear as two even smaller projects instead of a single small
project.
Another thing that Leslie wrote is "We are also bidding fond farewell to
some past participants in favor of bringing new projects into the program.".
This works against us since we have been with the program for the last three
years.
