I think all those schemata were developed for RAD tools (at least
I don't recall a project, in which the controllers etc were
manually at the moment). Tools were mainly Cake(PHP) and 
Rails(Ruby).
So you design the use-cases, the tables and columns from there 
and generate SQL from it. You feed it into
a DB and the RAD tool generates model, controller and view for 
each table.

I only recall one project, in which other team members actually used
Argo to view and modify the project and I was really surprised that
I got no negative feedback on usability, to be honest. But I could
not observe the actual work with Argo, so I'm not sure how many 
problem they got.
