I've tried to find usage statistics about macOS Intel machines.
According to the latest Steam survey, there are still ~11% of macOS
users who have a Intel CPU (*):

(*) look at the "GenuineIntel" and AVX support numbers
That said, from a maintenance perspective I agree that it makes sense to
drop support if CI cannot reasonably run anymore.
(one possible workaround is to run the x86-64 CI under Rosetta, but I'm
not sure that's enough to entirely validate compatibility with the
actual hardware)

macOS has stopped supporting macOS Intel on their latest (macos-27) release.
I'd like to propose dropping support for macOS Intel as we can't test
some of the setups anymore on our CI.
