The error is not related to transactionality across 2nd and 3rd steps. The
error is because the rollback of failure in Step3 is *removing* the type from
the TypeSystem cache (Step1), instead of what it should do, i.e. *restore* the
older version.
There is no easy way to do the right thing here, agree. We just need to figure
out what can be done - I am working on it, and will put out a proposal.
