Peter,

It failed again this morning, but that may have been a race condition
between your update and GUMP.

Looking at the CVS log for the James descriptor
(http://cvs.apache.org/viewcvs/jakarta-gump/project/jakarta-james.xml), I
don't see that anyone from the James project has ever done anything on it
(other than you, since you've been listed as a Committer).

Which dependencies don't we need? Probably not xerces, since we get that
through Avalon, and I don't see the need for town, either.

I added that dependency but no idea if that fixes your build. There looks to
be several dependencies that are not needed in james descriptor. I would
suggest one of you guys have a poke at it. Feel free to ask me if you need a
hand getting started.
