The upside is that it works with non-hierarchical aware app because you just changing the [group] designator. On one hand its a non-invasive solution to a question of repository scalability - but on the otherhand - I've got a similar uneasy feelings.

Can't really give any concreate example... but i got a bad feeling about problems that might show up by using slashes :)
