Ok, maybe I implied that XML was central, it was not intentional. Point is 
that Avalon Framework today has a Configuration class which is runtime error  
susceptible, which I don't really like.

And I was more in Framework-land than Container-land, just after waking up 
from Dream-land stepping off a 20hour Nightmare-land in an airplane.
