Yes I agree and had this thought nagging me for some time. I'm glad you breached the topic.
like repository navigation belong in the spi. I also think that breaking out some of the things in the repository/spi in an api/spi slit is going to clarify some aspects concerning the factory model and where things exists relative to each other. I also think my thinking on this is not a clear as it could be!
Sense and response will show the way and with constant refactoring along the way we shall hit bullseye!
I'm thinking the ArtifactDatabase interface and its implementation which I just checked in will beget another discussion. Take a look at the return type of the getArtifactAttributes method in that interface.
I just did - this is 100% SPI content. You and I have some api/spi refactoring to do.
BTW - this addition implies a JRE 1.3 dependency. Does anyone have a problem with that?
