Closest to the hardware I got was writing the micro-code for the CS 371
project.  Basically, the class broke up into teams: one wiring a
motherboard, one wiring a memory board, one wiring an I/O board, one wiring
a CPU board, etc.  I was in the latter team, and still find it amusing that
in a hardware course I was the one who got to do software.
