I can't believe I remember it that badly, for God sake I was in my teens when
Apple II came out...

Now, further research shows,
6501 and 6502 was developed by MOS Technologies, possibly by a design team
called Western Design in Mesa,AZ.
MOS Technologies was formed by ex-Motorola engineers.

In my not so extensive search I can't find any Motorola making 6502, and in an
published interview on http://www.woz.org/letters/general/81.html, Wozniak
says verbatim; "Motorola didn't make the 6502.".

Some says on http://en2.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commodore_128 , that even the 8502
(the 6510 replacement) came from MOS.

And further some history on MOS Tech at
http://en2.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOS_Technologies

I therefor conclude, that you guys may have been mistaken...

Cheers
Niclas
