Subject: Re: [PMC:VOTE] release process for cocoon deps
-----Mensagem original----- De: Leo Simons [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
this is not intended as a vote on a release, but on a part of the release process. I totally agree that things should build,
and build
well, etc etc.
I agree on pragmatism, but I also agree with Steve that have been a lack of interest in excalibur packages. If it has been part of Cocoon in the first place, then no need for begging for releases
:-)
You now see how complicated things can be made! Now, of course noone of us wants to release things that don't build or don't run. That's for sure. But I just want to ensure that if I (or somebody else) spent some energy into making the release happen, noone then blocks it by saying "Where are the docs?".
Carsten:
I've already mentioned this - but it seems like I need to mention it again. Nobody is blocking you. A release process needs a release manager. It needs a release candidate. A then you vote. Nobody can stop this - there is a vote result (majority, quorum of 3). It's not that hard - unless of course you want to change the process.
Afaik, the release procedure here is to have a pmc vote before a release,
That's incorrect.
A release is a decision of the dev community.
so "we Cocoon guys" have to ask as the code is maintained by avalon.
Have you considered moving the code to Cocoon?
Stephen.
