We'll it is certainly a consideration.  Greg Stein said something recently
about us relying on votes too much.  It's much better if we can see that
everyone agrees and move forward in a less formal way.

However, if we are going to retire Fortress/Phoenix, we should at least give
everyone a chance to have their 'yea' or 'nay' heard.

I'm watching at the moment.  Actually, I'm a +1 on the 'one architecture'
idea.  My concerns mostly rest with the implementation side of things, but I
feel that they are resolvable.

You're right in that this is not the first time we've had these discussions.
However, I hope it will be the last.

Berin's email has a lot of good points in it.  In fact, I would recommend
everyone review the entire thread just to get an idea of what has happened
before.  It's "educational."
