My suggestion, in simple words:
Take the current Avalon-Merlin platform as presented in the current website and label it Avalon 5. This relieves a lot of the current pressure and tensions.
Why?
It is 100% Avalon 4.X compatible. Why send a message that suggests that it is not. I think you mixing the the technical arguments with the political arguments.
