This is somewhat of a duplicate. A different change was merged which is
incomplete: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AVRO-2195
I will open a new ticket that adds compression level support.
I may open others for further clean-ups in this area that were done here.
I would close this one if Jira let me.
