I went through the list of open issues that are tagged for 2.9.0 https://issues.apache.org/jira/issues/?jql=project%20%3D%20AVRO%20AND%20status%20in%20(Open%2C%20%22In%20Progress%22%2C%20Reopened)%20AND%20fixVersion%20%3D%201.9.0 Can others contributors please take a look at that list and update the "Fix version" field to 2.10.0 if the fix won't be able to be in place before the cut, or leave without version if not sure when this will be done. This way we can track what is missing that should get in too.
