Hello, I'm Michael Boxleiter, a computer engineering student at Iowa State University, and I am interested in the Open Office Writer: Bibliography project you guys have under the summer of code project suggestions. I have completed two years of my computer engineering degree and am fairly experienced with c++, and I have a decent grasp of the basics of the project objectives. I have never worked on an opensource project before, so I don't really know what I'm getting into, but I think working with the Open Office team and Google on a large project would be really good experience for me and would help me branch out my coding skills. I more or less just want to know if you guys think I would be able to actually do this project with as little experience as I have. I realize that I would have to do a lot of research and learning just to get started on the project, but I also know that I have a ton of free time this summer and I would be really interested in working on something like this rather than some worthless summer job. Thanks for your time, and I hope to hear back.
