Just another quick followup:
The Mac developer that had started with mockups for a CSL
editing/creation app has since gone further and has a full (if
incomplete) working application.
So it seems like it is well-suited to a GUI (it only took him a couple
of days). I will work with him to see where we can tweak things to
make it easier still.
One thing I still could use help on from those wanting to contribute
and comfortable with XML is testing with real-world styles. I've done
APA and Chicago (both of which are somewhat complex) and a few others,
but I only have so much time to test this myself.
BTW, I'll be presenting on the bib project at the Access 2005
conference in Edmonton in just over a week.
Finally, for those (me included) who have been a little frustrated by
the slow pace of obvious progress, this note from one of the Sun people
might be encouraging:
I always believed, that the bib project has the power to investigate
and introduce new technologies in OOo and OpenDocument and I am very
happy, that you see it the same way.
Altough your project may slow down a little bit, because the new
technologies have to be discussed by many people, I believe, that this
is worth it.
