A quick head's up:
I'm now officially a member of the OASIS OpenDocument TC. This has two
practical benefits:
1) I can contribute to discussions on the evolution of the format
2) I can introduce new enhancement proposals
I have two very targeted goals for being on the TC, both of which are
related to this project.
First, I intend to help resolve the current discussion about metadata
so that ODF will have state-of-art metadata support that we can
exploit.
Second, I intend to introduce a proposal to add the logic of my
citation style language (CSL) to the ODF styling system.
I am currently in the process of revising CSL to bring it closer to
what it should look like for ODF, and upgrading citeproc to handle it.
I hope to have that done soon, at which point I'll need help testing it
to make sure CSL is as good as it can be.
My post about the data model the other day is related to all of this,
as it's informed by my thinking on metadata in ODF, and in turn I will
adapt CSL to bring it all closer together. All of this, of course, has
GUI implications.
If anyone wants to help on something in particular, let us know.
