I don't believe it to work in reality because styles are not necessary defined by an area of science, but often (also or only) by an institution or journal. If your intention is to ease looking up a style in a GUI I'd recomment a techniqe used quite often in Eclipse: You type some keyword in a filter text field, lets say "APA", and the GUI immediately filters the list of styles to only contain those that have APA in their name.
